Some of you have probably seen me talking about saving up points and free gift cards to get my high chair, so I thought I'd let everyone in on what I'm doing.
See, I want this high chair that is incredibly expensive. $180. BUT it's a 4 in 1, high chair, booster and toddler chair. The best part, in my opinion, it can be a toddler chair AND a high chair at the same time! No need to buy a new chair for baby #1 or a new high chair for baby #2! And of course it matches my stroller, car seat, and pack and play.
Nice, right? So I went to Babies R Us (the only place they sell this high chair) with my little sister to register for her baby. When we checked out I got one of those 20% off any one baby item coupons. I thought, "perfect! It's good until 5/3, and we definitely need to get the little one out of her SnugSeat and into a high chair by then." Then I got a Toys R Us Mailer with a $10 off a $50 purchase card, able to be used with other coupons, just not whole purchase coupons. Awesome! With that the price of the high chair was down from $180 to $134!
**Luckily they give out those 20% off coupons every time, so I will probably have to go get another one before I have enough...**
We all know how much I love Shopkick...well, that's helping me too! I already have enough kicks for 3 $5 Babies R Us gift cards, and I'm sure I'll have almost twice that in a month! (For more info on Shopkick, go here!)
Then there's Checkpoints(use code chuckiep for bonus points when you sign up!). A little tougher to get points on, but I'm only 600 points from a $10 Amazon gift card...I'm sure I can do it!
How does an Amazon gift card help? I will get all the Amazon gift cards I can, then pay the difference to buy a $100 American Express gift card from Amazon. That's the only amount they have, but it's something!
Superpoints and Swagbucks are getting me Amazon giftcards too, I expect I'll get another $5 gift card from each of them before my cut off date. I also got one through Mindfield, and will have another one once my surveys clear. Surveyhead owes me $25 once my $$ stops pending, also to be redeemed as Amazon gift card. And if Opinion Outpost would fix their Amazon redemption, I'd have at least a $5 gift card from them too.
But for now, I have $17 in Amazon cards with $15 coming any day ($5 each from Swagbucks, Superpoints and Mindfield) and $15 in Babies R Us gift cards from Shopkick. I still need $68 in Amazon cards and $25 in Babies R Us cards. [After things stop pending I'll only need $38 in Amazon cards, $33 if Opinion Outpost fixes their Amazon redemption]
